Flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks at Merritt Island Airport, one on one with a CFII. No judgment about the rust. Just a clear path back to the left seat.
The FAA requires a flight review every 24 calendar months: a minimum of one hour of ground and one hour of flight with an instructor. If it has been longer than that, or a lot longer, that is fine. The session is scoped to how much rust there actually is, and it ends with you signed off and confident.
Instrument currency lapsed past the point of self-recovery? An IPC with a CFII, flown to the instrument ACS, restores it. We fly approaches, holds, and unusual attitudes until you are proficient, not until a clock runs out.
Ten minutes on where you are, what you fly, and how long it has been.
Regs, weather, airspace, and the stuff that changed while you were away.
Airwork and landings, or approaches and holds, until proficient. Then the endorsement.
